Why I chose Lumen

I chose the Lumen system because it’s rules-light and players are free to easily change up things to suit their game and style. Lumen is all about telling stories of compelling and vibrant characters, and it was definitely how I felt after I figured out how to get the hang of playing LIGHT. That was also the first time I’ve ever played a tabletop RPG game, so in order to avoid confusing or overwhelming myself, I decided to base my game on Lumen as it’s not a difficult system to grasp. It also happened to fit the type of TTRPG I was looking to create: a combat-focused cyberpunk game. I didn’t find it overly difficult to design my game either. To me, the idea of being a powerful character with awesome powers fighting foes in a cyberpunk world sounded very exciting and appealing, which is another reason why I chose Lumen. It truly brings out the sensation of playing an action video game (which I primarily play). I’m not a big fan of slow-paced games either, with tons and tons of rules and details to follow that overwhelm you, so Lumen was a perfect choice for creating Cyberchase. Its quick gameplay cycle and rapid dice rolling is refreshing and entices me to keep playing. I also enjoy how it’s different from the typical TTPRG in that there are no skill lists and rather it’s about how the player approaches the task instead of what they’re doing.

With the Lumen system, I intend to create an engaging and intriguing game. Because of the unlimited possibilities in a cyberpunk universe, players can let their imaginations run wild in this game. I'm a major fan of all things cyberpunk, so I hope other cyberpunk lovers enjoy my game as much as I do!
